Multi-events meeting
Gotzis, Austria
Sebrle grew up playing soccer, but turned to athletics after recovering from a serious leg injury. He won silver at the 2000 Olympics. But in Gotzis in 2001, against four of the world's then-top 10 decathletes, including his compatriot and world record-holder Tomas Dvorak, he became the undisputed top dog.
Sebrle was inspired. He set four PBs and was never out of the top three in any of the 10 events. He became the first man in history to break the 9000-points barrier, ending up with 9026.
