Sprint icon Usain Bolt has turned down the chance to make a Cool Runnings-style appearance with the Jamaican bobsleigh squad at the next year’s Winter Olympics, reports spikesmag.com.
The Caribbean nation is hoping to compete at the Vancouver Games in February, but they will do so without the power and speed of the world 100m and 200m record holder.
One of the sledders, Marvin Dixon, a former 400m and 800m runner, spoke of Bolt’s possible involvement in the project. “We asked him. He just said, ‘Cold. No,’” Dixon told the Jamaica Observer.
Cool Runnings was the popular fictionalised film that told the story of the Jamaican bobsleigh team’s appearance in the 1988 Winter Olympics – the last time the Games were staged in Canada.
