spikesmag.com favourite Natasha Danvers is causing a storm on Facebook after interviewing triple Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt... well, at least the Usain Bolt on the cover of the second issue of SPIKES magazine.
Danvers, who bounced back from an injury-riddled season to land an unexpected 400m hurdles bronze medal,
performs an hilarious video clip interviewing the static Bolt on our much-loved front cover with all the style and panache of a veteran interviewer.
The US-based British athlete complete with comedy glasses admitted of the clip: “when I go nutty, I go all the way.”
“I don’t know him [Bolt] well enough to say, ‘what’s this and SPIKES magazine all about?’ But I’m sure he’s seen it because I’ve heard Germaine [Mason, the Olympic high jump silver medalist and friend of Bolt] say. Apparently in Jamaica it’s become quite popular and a load of people think it’s hilarious,” said Danvers.
Since winning Olympic bronze Danvers has been a busy bee. Besides the rounds of school speaking, she has interviewed
Millwall footballer Chris Hackett for an article in the South London Press and
presented an award at the MOBOs as reported by spikesmag.com.
Danvers has also written a book called,
Keep Your Peckah Up – The Pocket Guide to Unleashing Your Greatness and starred as a DJ for six days on
Choice FM. All this and she is a mum to Jaden, who celebrates his fourth birthday next month.
