Robot built to mirror Usain Bolt

A scientific boffin has invented a robot built to run like a human, spikesmag.com reports.
Ryuma Niiyama of MIT’s
Robot Locomotion Group built the robot, called Athlete, with an artificial musculoskeletal system that mirrors human muscles and a springy elastic blade – similar to that worn by Paralympic legend
Oscar Pistorius.
According to reports at
cnet News the robot
has seven sets of artificial muscles in each leg and touch sensors on each foot.
Usain Bolt, however, won’t be sleeping uneasily in his bed at the thought of a new mechanical rival. T
he maximum speed Athlete can currently reach is 3.9f feet per second and then it crashes to the ground.
