The 2000 Olympic 100m champion Maurice Greene may have quick feet but his quickstep did not prove as impressive as he was axed from
Dancing with The Stars along with his professional dance partner Cheryl Burke.
The former US sprinter was
eliminated after the duo received 48 points out of 60 from the judges for his version of the Quickstep and Paso Doble. After viewer votes were combined with the judges' scores, the 34-year-old Olympic gold medalist was kicked off the show. There are now four contestants remaining.
Greene, the former world 100m record holder, said: “I had a lot of fun. I made a lot of new friends out here.
I learned how to dance out here in front of millions of people every night. I had a great time.”
Athletics boasts a proud record on the dance show with shot putter
Joachim Olsen winning the Danish version earlier this month and former World long jump champion
Fiona May a victor in Italy’s
Dancing with The Stars.
In Great Britain’s
Strictly Come Dancing, former world 110m hurdles record holder
Colin Jackson and former Olympic heptathlon champion
Denise Lewis have finished runner-up.
