Kim Collins Day declared in St Kitts and Nevis

and now August 25 has been declared Kim Collins Day in honour of the 100m gold medal the St Kitts and Nevis athlete won on that date in 2003, spikesmag.com reports.
The move was declared by the government of the tiny Caribbean island nation which has a population of a little over 42,000 people.
Collins enjoyed an outstanding career and won his country’s first World Championship medal - a 200m bronze medal in 2001. The following year he landed a 100m gold medal at the Commonwealth Games
before enjoying his finest hour when claiming that shock 100m gold medal at the 2003 World Championships.
He retired from championship athletics last year, but still makes occasional appearances on the circuit.
Besides the East Basseterre Bypass Road being renamed the Kim Collins Highway, the main stand on the island’s Silver Jubilee Athletic Stadium is named in his honour and t
