Jews face Chicago Marathon dilemma

A number of
Jewish runners are concerned the timing of the 2011 Bank of America Chicago will conflict with Yom Kippur later this year, spikesmag.com reports.
The holy day in the Jewish calendar falls the day before this year’s 26.2-mile test in the ‘Windy City’ scheduled for October 9.
However,
with marathoners expected to carbo-load the day before the big race the timing could prove difficult for Jewish runners as they are expected to observe a 25-hour period of fasting for Yom Kippur.
Organisers of the Chicago Marathon confirmed they received a number of calls from concerned Jewish runners at the clash.
