After two injury ravaged seasons spikesmag.com reports that 2004 Olympic triple jump champion Christian Olsson as made an unusual comeback, as a thrower!
The Swede, who is also the reigning European champion, missed last year’s World Championships and this summer’s Olympic Games in Beijing because of injury had even hinted at possible retirement from the sport.
However, it did not stop Olsson competing in the ‘Castorama’ – a late autumn tradition in Sweden – in which competitors try all four throwing events.
For the record Olsson showed impressive all-round ability, winning the competition involving his own training group. He threw 11.62m for the shot, 47.75m for the javelin, he hurled the discus out to 32.23m and the hammer 27.29m.
