Usain Bolt could be on his way to Australia to compete in a one-off sprint race against some of Rugby League's fastest men, spikesmag.com reports.

The world 100m and 200m record holder has reportedly been offered just under a million dollars by the NRL (National Rugby League) officials to compete in the race, at the Athletics All Stars meet held at Sydney’s Olympic Park on September 15.

Meet director Hayden Knowles, who has been in talks with Bolt’s representatives for some time about the special race, is very keen to attract Bolt to Sydney.

“He would set the city alight without a doubt,” Knowles told the Sunday Telegraph.

“We want this to happen, we think we have the resources and we are working extremely hard to make it happen.”

If Bolt does agree to go down-under for the exhibition race, the Jamaican sprint superstar will come up against a number of NRL speedsters, including Melbourne Storm’s Greg Inglis and Parramatta EelsJarryd Hayne, a former hurdler who previously appeared on spikesmag.com in THIS feature.
