Berlin medal winners presented with Alfa Romeos at Gateshead

Four British medallists at the 2009 World Championships were presented with a car each by Alfa Romeo following their accomplishments in Berlin, reports spikesmag.com.
Gold medallists Phillips Idowu and Jessica Ennis –– and middle-distance minor medallists Lisa Dobriskey and Jenny Meadows –– were presented with new cars ahead of the Aviva British Grand Prix in Gateshead.
Damien Dally, brand communications manager at Alfa Romeo, said:
“Congratulations to all the team on a fantastic performance at the World Championships in Berlin.
“
Following a similar incentive that we offered to successful Olympic athletes in Beijing, we are delighted to be handing over more cars to yet more worthy British medallists,” he added.
Jessica Ennis, the heptathlon gold medallist, said: “Becoming world champion was a dream come true, I still can’t quite believe it. For all the medallists to then win an Alfa Romeo is brilliant.”
Alfa Romeo has an ongoing partnership with UK Athletics (UKA).
