My hero: Melaine Walker on Angelina Jolie
Jamaica’s Olympic 400m hurdles champion Melaine Walker chats to spikesmag.com about her total respect for award winning US film actress Angelina Jolie.
"I like Angelina Jolie because for some reason I feel like she is kind of like me in that she is strong and likes to be independent. She likes to do her own thing and likes to help people and donate money to help people in Africa.
Angelina is also like me in that she is very determined and she loves to help people who need it. I always want to help people and if I was that rich or had enough money, I’d also give it away.
I have read a lot of her interviews in magazines and if I ever met her I would probably just say I really admire the things you do. I would like to do the same sort of things and how can I get involved.
I think all her movies are good but I mostly like the Brad and Angelina movies. I really like Mr and Mrs Smith, knowing that they had to compete with each other. I think it was really well put together and they did a great job.
She is a very strong woman and a big movie star. I don’t know how she would get on in the 400m hurdles. She is a little thin like me. She would need a whole lot of practise but I’m sure if she put her mind to it she would probably do very well."
