Olympic 1500m bronze medallist Nick Willis is the latest athlete to take the spikesmag.com pop quiz. The New Zealander reveals he is a fan of MC Hammer, LEGO and basketball.

What has been the greatest moment of your life?
NW: I have never cried [for joy] more than when Sierra walked down the aisle at our wedding.

What colour is Wednesday?
NW: Red? Why? I don't know, first that came to mind.

How much money have you got in your pocket at the moment?
NW: None, I use my credit card for everything, earning points as I go.

If your house was on fire what is the one thing that you would save?
NW: Well, the fire alarm went off in our hotel the other night, and I grabbed my passport, Green card and my Olympic medal.

If you could have any superpower what would it be?
NW: Teleporting powers.

What is your karaoke tune?
NW: U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer.

If you could have five dinner party guests who would they be and why?
NW: David Robinson (NBA Hall of Famer), Eric Liddell [Chariots of Fire fame], Michael Chang [tennis player], Michael Jones [NZ rugby player], and Josh Davis [Olympic swimmer]. All of these men are my heroes. They are not only some of the greatest sports people in the world, but live lives that I admire and aspire to emulate.

What is the best tip anyone has ever given you about anything?
NW: "Surround yourself with good people and great things will happen".

If you were an animal what would you be and why?
NW: An eagle. They are the masters of the skies.

Who’s the most famous person on your mobile?
NW: Braylon Edwards [NFL wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns].

When was the last time your cried?
NW: August 19th - On my victory lap at the Olympics [ED: see picture to the right of this feature].

What was the name of your childhood pet?
NW: Sam. He was a very cute cat.

What was your favourite toy when growing up?
NW: I was a big fan of LEGO as a kid.

What is the most expensive phone bill you have ever wracked up?
NW: We used a calling card from a hotel in Spain, thinking we would only pay the 5 cents a minute the card advertised. On checkout the 30-minute call to the US was over $200! Moral of the story - never use the hotel phone for outgoing calls.

If you could play another sport what would it be and why?
NW: I would love to be a professional basketball player. I played as a youth, and loved every second I had on the court. I called fast breaks every time we got the ball.
