Chris Tomlinson takes the Interview Decathlon

European long jump bronze medallist Chris Tomlinson takes the spikesmag.com interview decathlon, where we discover what keeps him awake at night and why Brad Pitt should play him in a film.

What was your best subject at school?

CT: Probably maths, because I’m good with numbers.

What is the best meal you’ve ever eaten?

CT: The best meal that I’ve eaten was my nine-course meal when I was married.

What is the thing that keeps you awake at night?

CT: The light outside my bedroom (laughs).

What are you most proud of?

CT: My World Indoor (2008) silver medal and my European (2010) bronze medal.

Who is the living person you most admire?

CT: My parents (okay, Chris, we’ll allow you to cheat a little here)

What is your favourite sport besides track and field?

CT: It used to be football but now it is probably golf.

If anyone could play you in a film who would it be and why?

CT: Brad Pitt because all the women like him.

What is the best thing you’ve ever bought?

CT: A holiday to the Maldives.

Name something you are embarrassed about?

CT: I once went to the gym after a long lay-off and thought I was stronger than what I was, but then became trapped under the bench press. I had to have some guys help lift up the weights for me.

Favourite book or film?

CT: My favourite film is The Usual Suspects and favourite book The Murder Room by P.D James.

Chris Tomlinson was part of the UKA 'I AM AN ATHLETE' launch in London's Kings Cross Station to show athletics as a basis for all daily activity."
