Allen Johnson takes our interview decathlon
Veteran sprint hurdler and former Olympic champion Allen Johnson is next up to try our interview decathlon.
Best subject at school?
AJ: Math. It came easy to me.
Best meal you’ve ever eaten?
AJ: I was in Miami one year and I had duck and it was the best meal I ever had.
What is the thing that keeps you awake at night?
AJ: Thinking about races.
What are you most proud of?
AJ: My children.
Who is the living person you most admire?
AJ: My mother because growing up it was just me and her and she took care of me. She is a black woman and to be a black woman during that time was hard.
What is your favourite sport other than track and field?
AJ: American Football. I support the Washington Redskins.
What is the biggest thrill from your sport?
AJ: The competition and being part of a fast race
The best thing I’ve ever bought?
After much thought Allen struggles to think of an answer.
Name something your embarrassed about?
AJ: My fear of public speaking
Favourite book or film?
AJ: My favourite film is Platoon because I have a fascination with the Vietnam War.
