British sprinter Jeanette Kwakye is back in training and back in pain

17/11/2008 10:20:08

Hello my spikers!!

As I write this blog to you, I think the only part of my body that can move without pain are my fingers!! That could mean one thing and one thing only… I am back into training for the 2009 season and my coach Michael, is having NO MERCY on me.
I am the last in my squad to resume training and everyone is flying, I got some catching up to do.
All those mojitos on Miami beach didn’t help either…

We have started our hills programme for 2009 and I have nightmares about the location, these nightmares are resurrected every November and they stay with me for at least 8 weeks!
I have to keep the location secret, however I don’t think anyone would want go there anyway!!

It was quite ironic that my first day back to the track this year was also the same day Barack Obama got elected to be the president of the United States… I made sure I emailed all my American track buddies to tell them to VOTE for Obama, I was so envious that I couldn’t vote, but I feel totally blessed to witness history!!

I found this awesome photo.. can you guess who Obama has been modelled on here??

Its good to know that we as a world are on the way to CHANGE… I think it is long overdue.
I have a degree in politics so I love to follow current affairs and see how world trends have changed over the years, it is amazing to think that in the 1960’s Martin Luther King Jr had a dream and now that dream is starting to be realised, by all races and nations.

Aside from Political affairs I have been having some interesting experiences.. One of which was getting my foot casted by a sculpter  in plaster for the foot company Scholl!!

I hate my toes, but I was asked for them to be immortalised so I could give them to a school or club of my choice that have helped me along the way. I have decided and I will reveal all to you in my next blog!! I will also get a picture of the foot casting, but don’t analyse my toes too much, it may put you off feet for the rest of your life!
